This monument was erected and dedicated to all Americans who have defended our country and, in so doing, have had to endure the hardships of being a prisoner of war.
It was dedicated on 9 April, 2006, for The American Ex-Prisoner of War National Day of Recognition, celebrated each year on 9 April. Next to the monument are 6 “American Ex-Prisoner of War” rose bushes which are a striking orange color.
